Day 8

Today was an exciting day! Hannah has fulfilled all but one of the requirements for her to go home. She's able to regulate her own body temperature, has had no episodes of apnea, is no longer receiving fluids via IV, and no longer requires the bili lights for jaundice. The only remaining hurdle is related to feeding. Before going home, she must be able to consistently feed from the bottle and the breast. Well, today she breastfed (sorry, no pictures of this!) for ten or more minutes each time (ten minutes is considered a full feeding) and bottle-fed for the first time! As long as she continues to feed well, the nurses and doctors believe she may be able to go home as early as this Wednesday! We are very excited and look forward to the next couple of days.
